Atlantis Consulting participated in the 2nd meeting of the NERITES project, which took place at the facilities of the University of Calabria, Italy, from 4th to 5th of July 2024. The meeting was hosted and organized by the DiMEG (Department of Mechanical Energy and Management Engineering) of the University (UNICAL) and was hybrid, with project partners participating both in person and online.
During the presentations, significant developments and achievements of the project were highlighted, and constructive discussions followed. Atlantis Consulting, as the Communication and Dissemination Leader of the project, emphasized the progress in digital outreach and the participation of NERITES in exhibitions and conferences held so far to widely disseminate and inform about the project's objectives. It also analyzed the framework for evaluating the necessary technology specifications of the project to meet research needs at the pilot sites: 1. Korseon Furnaces, Greece, and 2. Baia Archaeological Park, Italy.
A special tour of the department's laboratories was conducted during the meeting, featuring a live demonstration of two underwater ROVs & AUVs.
Overall, the meeting at the University of Calabria highlighted the progress of the NERITES project and strengthened relationships and collaboration among partners. With the dedication and commitment of all participants, the project is on a good path to achieve its goals and provide significant benefits to the scientific community and society.
