ATLANTIS CONSULTING participated in EMD 2024

Atlantis Consulting made its presence felt at strongly participated in the international event EMD 2024 (European Maritime Day), which took place in Svendborg, Denmark, on between May 30-31, 2024, at the SIMAC Academy (Svendborg International Maritime Academy). The event was organized by the European Commission, the Municipality of Svendborg, and the Danish Maritime Authority.

European Maritime Day (EMD) is an annual two-day event during which the European maritime community comes together to network, discuss, and outline collective action for maritime affairs, the marine environment, and the sustainable blue economy. Throughout the event, speeches, sessions, and workshops organized by stakeholders and the European Commission are held, targeting professionals from businesses, governments, public agencies, NGOs, and academia, as well as EU citizens interested in the sea.

Atlantis Consulting, long sensitive strongly aware of issues related to culture and blue technologies and a pioneer internationally in the protection and sustainable exploitation of Underwater Cultural Heritage, participated in the EMD 2024 at stand 20, where. Here, it provided information to stakeholders about its activities and the European project that has recently coordinated and implemented on Blue Culture and Blue Technologies. During EMD2024, ATLANTIS participated also in many relevant workshops, and B2B meetings that were carried out.

More specifically, NERITES aims to create and use an autonomous platform for remote monitoring and at the same time non-destructive chemical analysis of Underwater Archaeological Sites by using advanced methods. Thus, the user at a remote monitoring position on land will be able to manage the duration of the mission and the general overview of the entire system status based on visual analytical mechanisms in real time.

The BCThubs project will establish in Greece, Bulgaria and Malta, Blue Culture Technology Excellence Hubs, as permanent structures supporting with new innovative solutions and products, the sustainable protection, restoration, valorization, management, accessibility and promotion of Underwater Cultural Heritage (UWCH).

Το TOURAL επικεντρώνεται στον δημιουργικό και πολιτιστικό τουρισμό, με απώτερο σκοπό τη συνδημιουργία επιχειρηματικών μοντέλων και τουριστικών προϊόντων, τον σχεδιασμό και την επιχειρηματική ανάπτυξη με ολοκληρωμένες αλυσίδες αξίας. Tο πεδίο εφαρμογής περιλαμβάνει 3 περιοχές από την περιοχή της Αδριατικής Θάλασσας και του Ιονίου πελάγους (Ελλάδα, Ιταλία, Κροατία) και 3 περιοχές από την Μαύρη Θάλασσα (Βουλγαρία, Ρουμανία, Ουκρανία).

CREAMARE is a collaborative program that brings together cultural organizations, research centers, and technology experts to create an educational game aimed at promoting Underwater Cultural Heritage and raising awareness about the environmental threats to the oceans.

ART4SEA aims to create a transnational and interdisciplinary cooperation program that involves artists 24 artists, who will create physical (9), digital (12) and underwater (3) artworks to raise public awareness of ocean degradation and climate change.

Finally, ecoRoute aims at designing and implementing a multidimensional and ecological approach, highlighting the Underwater Cultural and Natural Heritage, for the creation of tourist destinations and sustainable development.
