The European project CREAMARE, in which Atlantis Consulting participated, has been successfully completed. The project, which started in 2022, aimed to create a framework for transnational and cross-sectoral cooperation where cultural institutions, scientific/research organizations, creative professionals, and technology experts co-develop digital applications and multimedia tools for the communication, dissemination, and promotion of Underwater Cultural Heritage (UCH). At the same time, the project sought to raise awareness about various ocean-related challenges, such as pollution and environmental threats. The project consortium included: 3D Research (IT), Atlantis Consulting (GR), Pragma.IoT (GR), Novena d.o.o. (HR), Universidad de Cádiz (ES), and the Italian Ministry of Culture (IT).
CREAMARE: The Game
As part of the CREAMARE project, CREAMARE: The Game is an innovative Serious Game that combines entertainment and education, allowing users not only to have fun but also to learn and become sensitized to the environment and Underwater Cultural Heritage. Players, in the role of divers, explore nine real underwater cultural heritage sites in the Mediterranean. Each location presents unique challenges and puzzles for the players to solve, while providing valuable knowledge about the environmental risks threatening these heritage sites. The goal of the game is for players to defeat the "monster that comes from the future." The game’s aesthetics blend realism with the vibrant colours of the underwater world, while its immersive soundscape enhances the overall experience.

Final Partner Meeting in Budapest
The final partner meeting of the CREAMARE project took place from May 13–15, 2025, in Budapest, Hungary, hosted by project partner Pro Progressione, with the presence of all consortium members. On Wednesday, May 13, the partners presented CREAMARE: The Game at the Library of the National Hungarian Museum. During the meeting, Marco Cozza from 3D Research presented the key objectives of the project and outlined the structure of the educational game. Daniel Poulet, project manager from Pro Progressione, highlighted the stunning locations featured in the game, each with significant historical and cultural value and meticulously reconstructed using 3D photogrammetry. These sites were proposed by cultural organizations and institutions, representing a wide range of geographical regions, historical periods, and maritime narratives—bringing ancient history back to life.
In CREAMARE: The Game, players can explore nine underwater archaeological sites from the Mediterranean, in a highly atmospheric setting filled with ancient ruins, shipwrecks, and submerged treasures.
After the presentation, attendees had the opportunity to test the computer-based prototype version of the game.
The event served as an important occasion to highlight the role of digital innovation in environmental education and its value in addressing contemporary ecological challenges.
A Creative Ending, A New Beginning
While the CREAMARE project has officially concluded, its legacy—both the know-how and the game itself—will continue to be used and further developed. At Atlantis Consulting, we remain committed to the protection and promotion of Underwater Cultural Heritage through innovative digital tools and partnerships that inspire new generations.
