Atlantis Consulting was represented at the regional conference "THALASSA 2024 – Marine Science Conference", which took place on 28 and 29 May 2024 in Larnaca, Cyprus, under the auspices of the Cyprus Institute of Marine and Maritime Research (CMMI). The purpose of the conference was to act as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences, bringing together experts and stakeholders from academia, research institutes, industry, NGOs, and the public sector.
During the Conference, Mr. Angelos Maglis, founder of the company, attended and spoke at the 5th session on "Marine Cultural Heritage". In his speech, he analyzed the integrated approaches that enhance the construction, protection, conservation, and sustainable exploitation of the Underwater Cultural and Natural Heritage. These approaches aim at the sustainable management of maritime heritage sites and the development of a "smart" thematic tourism activity in coastal areas and islands.
The ultimate purpose of Atlantis Consulting's participation in the conference was to enhance information and awareness on the cultural and socio-economic value of Underwater Cultural and Natural Heritage and to address the challenges of the marine environment, through support at regional level, support for scientific research, the use of Blue Culture technologies and the active participation of institutions and citizens. In this context, Mr. Maglis also presented the European projects in which the company participates as a partner: BCThubs, NERITES and TOURAL of Horizon Europe, and the ecoRoute project of EMFAF.
