The final event of the open innovation program, Confluence Challenge: Driving Innovation Together, was successfully completed on the afternoon of Monday 4th of December at 15:00, in Amphitheatre 1 of Aristotle University Research Dissemination Center (KEDEA).
During the event, the 17 start-ups and research organizations, that were selected to respond to technological challenges posed by multinational industries ISOMAT, ALUMIL and KLEEMANN, will present their solutions they developed.
The teams that claimed the Confluence Challenge awards are:
Confluence Excellence Award (15.000€)
- Exanta - a spin-off from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) ) - With a solid track record in large-scale data aggregation, forecasting and business analytics, the team works with Alumil to develop a solution for advanced sales forecasting.
- HazLab - Building on years of experience with large-scale research projects and industry R&D in multiple verticals, the team works with ISOMAT to develop a solution for smart labelling of hazardous chemicals.
Technology Innovation Award
- PROMISE - Building on many years of experience on production forecasting and operational environments research, the team works with Alumil to develop a solution for Challenge #9: Scrap-rate forecasting and reduction.
- Intelli.ware - Leveraging the expertise of Rhoé in advanced data analytics and the cutting-edge RFID technology of Embneusys, the group works with KLEEMANN to develop a solution for Challenge #2: Optimal utilisation of warehouse space
Market Disruption Award
- SmartLoC, startup με έδρα στη Γερμανία και ανάπτυξη στην Ελλάδα: Έξυπνη διαδικασία ενέγγυων πιστώσεων, σε συνεργασία με την Alumil.
Innovation for Society Award
- LPRE Lab - With a solid track record in polymers, bio-based nanomaterials, and development of nanocomposites, the team works with Alumil to develop a solution for Challenge #8: Improved methods for painting composite materials.
Incubation Services Award
- WeLink - Having created a novel approach to track recyclable materials and to develop recycling reward programs, the startup from Thessaloniki works with ISOMAT to develop a solution for Challenge #5: Circular approach to packaging.
- M4D Vision - With a track record of bringing research results to operational environments, the project team (part of CDXi solutions, a Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) spin-off) collaborates with Alumil to develop a solution for optimizing aluminum dross skimming procedures.
- CargoWatch - With a solid background on package monitoring and production prioritisation, the project team (part of CDXi Solutions) works with Kleemann to develop a solution for Challenge #3: Transportation scheduling optimisation
- Ecomateria - Building on many years of experience with bringing research results to operational environments, the project team (part of CDXi Solutions) works with ISOMAT to develop a solution for Challenge #4: Bill of Materials (BoM) optimization.
