Ολοκλήρωση ημερίδας «Η Ανάδυση του Οικοσυστήματος Ενάλιας Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς» στο Ναυτικό Μουσείο Πειραιά στα πλαίσια του έργου BCThubs.

Workshop entitled “The Emergence of the Greek Maritime Cultural Heritage Ecosystem” in Hellenic Maritime Museum on Saturday 30, March, in the frame of BCThubs project.

On Saturday 30th of March 2024, the Greek Excellence Hub of the BCThubs project organized a Staekholders’ Workshop entitled “The Emergence of the Greek Maritime Cultural Heritage Ecosystem”. The main aim of the workshop was to inform the stakeholders about the current trends in the Maritime Cultural Heritage sector in Greece, and invite them to become members of the Greek Blue Culture Technologies Excellence Hub. The workshop took place in the premises of the Hellenic Maritime Museum, in Peiraeus and it was open to all maritime stakeholders to participate. The organization of the workshop was supported by the Hellenic Institute of Maritime Archaeology, the Regional Development Fund of Thessaly and ATLANTIS Consulting. It was attended by Mr. Athanasios Kyriazis, General Secretary of the Greek General Secretariat for Research and Innovation, while a salutation was made by Mr. Georgios Didaskalou, General Secretary of the Greek Ministry of Culture.

During the 1st session of the workshop, BCThubs presentation was made by Mrs. Aggeliki Veneti (Project Coordinator) while Mr. Polyvios Raxis described the main strategic pillars of the R&I activities of the GR Excellence Hub and Mrs. Lydia Stergiopoulou presented the current status of the GR Excellence Hub Ecosystem.

The 2nd session of the workshop was dedicated to presentations from the members of the Greek Ecosystem. After a salutation and Museum’s presentation from the President of the Hellenic Maritime Museum Mrs. Anastasia Anagnostopoulou-Paloumpi, presentations regarding various aspects of the Greek Maritime Cultural Heritage sector were made. Mrs. Stella Kyvelou Stella (Panteion University) presented the contribution of Underwater Cultural Heritage in Blue Economy. 

The discussions were so vivid and interesting that participants and speakers discussed further not only in the context of the sessions but also during the lunch and coffee breaks.
