Another exchange between ATLANTIS (Greece) and UNICAL (Italy) for TECTONIC project

During the period of June-August 2024, 4 researchers from ATLANTIS Consulting in Greece were hosted by the University of Calabria (UNICAL) in Italy, advancing educational collaboration between institutions. 

During the first period of the secondment (June-July 2024), an array of training activities and visits to the Laboratories of the Department of Biology, Ecology and Earth Sciences (DiBEST) have been organized in UNICAL aiming at exchanging experiences and skills for the promotion of Underwater Cultural Heritage. On July 8th, ATLANTIS colleagues held a workshop entitled “From Research Results to Becoming an entrepreneur: Means of Finance and First Steps Towards Entrepreneurship”, followed by a roundtable discussion of the conducted work and outputs of the 1st month.

During the second period of the secondment (July-August 2024), more activities and training seminars have been organized by the Department of Mechanical, Energy and Management Engineering (DiMEG) in UNICAL. On July 19th, a workshop on digital technologies and virtual experiences for Underwater Cultural Heritage along with a special tour in their premises was co-organized by DiMEG and 3DR Research for the visiting members of ATLANTIS and the academic members of Universidad de Salamanca. Moreover, 3DR Research organized an immersive experience with Virtual Reality applications for visiting underwater sites. With the use of VR headsets, the participants experienced a dry-dive to Christoforos modern Shipwreck which is in Skopelos (Greece) and can be also visited in-situ.

TECTONIC project is implemented under the framework of H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions & Support to Experts programme under the “Research and Innovation Staff Exchange” topic. The total project budget amounts to 1.062.600 euros and its implementation period is 70 months (End date: 30 November 2025). Project consortium includes the University of Calabria, the Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate, 3D Research and the Ministry of Culture from Italy, the University of Salamanca from Spain, the Foundation for Research and Technology, University of Patras and ATLANTIS Consulting S.A. from Greece, H2O Robotics from Croatia, SYNPO akciová společnost from Czech Republic and Prolexia from France.
