The EU Project ART4SEA launches an open call to select 24 international artists.
We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking initiative that merges the worlds of art and ocean conservation. We proudly present the launch of the international call for artists by ART4SEA, inviting creative minds from around the globe to contribute their talents in raising awareness about the pressing issues facing our oceans.
Art has long been a powerful vehicle for sparking conversations, provoking thought, and driving change. With the aim of using art as a catalyst for action, the call seeks submissions that captivate, inspire, and ultimately, drive a stronger commitment to safeguarding the world's oceans.
Artists of all mediums – from painters and sculptors to digital artists and multimedia creators – are invited to submit their original works that encompass the beauty, vulnerability, and importance of marine ecosystems. Through this creative expression, ART4SEA envisions shedding light on topics such as plastic pollution, overfishing, coral reef degradation and the overall need for sustainable marine practices, with an overall aim of spreading ocean literacy and inspiring a more environmentally friendly behavior.
Key highlights of the call for artists include:
- Open to artists of all backgrounds, ages, and nationalities.
- Submissions accepted across a range of artistic mediums.
- A distinguished panel of experts in art and marine conservation to judge the entries.
- Selected artworks to be showcased in international exhibitions and online galleries.
- Monetary awards and recognition for the most impactful submissions.
The call for artists comes at a critical juncture when the world is grappling with the consequences of environmental degradation. With our oceans being an essential source of life and biodiversity, the intersection of art and marine conservation offers a fresh perspective on the urgent need for collective action.
